Hi, my name is Michael Salter. I’m a tenor saxophonist, composer and educator based in Chicago, IL. I have been teaching and performing for almost 30 years and am currently a member of the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic and the Carnegie Hall Summer Music Educators Workshop faculty. Recently, I was selected to take part in the Global Leaders Institute MBA program. This 12 month program is primarily sponsored by Harvard University with additional curriculum development by NYU, Stanford, University of Chicago and other top tier universities. GLI accepts only 60 people each year and fosters a network that continues to provide resources long after coursework is complete. I have no doubt that completing this program will provide me with additional skills that will be invaluable to improve the interactions I have with the students that I teach as well as for the organizations and communities I’m a part of.
The current challenge is that after scholarships, the remaining tuition will be about $9000. I have raised enough to secure my spot in the class of 2025 but there is still a substantial amount of tuition and expenses still unaccounted for.
