Global Justice for Nurse Jennifer Melle

While working a shift in May 2024, Jennifer was called to assist with a volatile patient, a prisoner who wanted to self-discharge.

His medical records listed him as male – not female or transgender. The name board simply gave a feminine name. He appeared masculine, standing over six feet tall and of large build.

After Jennifer referred to him as ‘Mr’, he screamed, “Do not call me Mr! I am a woman!”

Jennifer replied that she couldn’t refer to him as ‘her’ or ‘she’ as it was against her Christian faith, but instead offered to call him by his name.

“How about I call you n*****?” the man yelled, “Yes, black n*****!”

Rather than giving her support and protecting her, the NHS Trust where she worked punished her.

She was pulled aside and told she had to respect equality and diversity. Then, she was pressured to supply management with a statement and warned that if she didn’t attend a mandatory meeting with HR, she would be sent home while the investigation was happening.

She also now faces disciplinary action for supposedly ‘breaking the Code of Conduct’ by not using female terms for him. She has also been referred to the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Jennifer, as well as being a dedicated Nurse, is also a single hard working Mother to 3 wonderful children.

For almost a year Jennifer has suffered financial loss and because of this is behind with her bills etc and we feel this is unacceptable and unfair with such extreme circumstances - you can imagine the level of pressure and intimidation that she has had to face over this time.

I really would love the nation to Join me in supporting her, Nurse Jennifer was treating the patient in concern with respect and subjected to racist abuse along with the threat of losing Her career - which as you can imagine has been extremely challenging for Jennifer over these 10 months, but God is so faithful.

Any funds raised will be used to ease this unnecessary pressure during a challenging time for the family this includes court fees and be received with much Love of Jesus and gratitude. Jennifer continues to pray for all those who are also facing a hard time right now.

Those who know Jennifer continually speak of how much of a beautiful strong and bold woman of God she is, she serves God with passion and diligence and is dedicated to street evangelism in the UK. Jennifer is always doing what she can for others, so loving and devoted. And throughout these past months Jennifer has continued to praise Jesus and give thanks to our Lord throughout.
