She Was Only 36. Glioblastoma Stole Her Life—Now I’m Fighting for Her Boys.
My best friend of 25 years is gone.
Sammi was only 36 when glioblastoma—the most aggressive and unforgiving brain cancer—took her from us. One moment she was a vibrant single mom of three, juggling life with strength and laughter—and in the blink of an eye, she was gone.
She was a mother above all else. Her world revolved around her three boys—two still in their childhood, and one just beginning to step into adulthood. They were her everything. And now, they’re left to navigate life without her.
Even after brain surgery, Sammi refused to stop fighting. She went right back to work the very next month—pushing through the pain, trying to pay her bills, and working to pay off her car so her boys would have something of value if anything ever happened to her. That’s who she was. Strong. Selfless. Unstoppable.
Sammi didn’t have life insurance—she was 32 when she was diagnosed. She never imagined this would happen so young. But now, her boys are facing a future without their mother—and they need support.
This fundraiser will primarily go toward supporting Sammi’s boys in the months and years ahead—helping with the essentials no child should have to worry about after losing their mother: school supplies, clothes, birthdays, and all the milestones she should’ve been here for—first cars, graduations, and the moments that shape a life. A portion of the funds will also help her parents with lingering medical and care expenses. They have been her rock—caring for her when she couldn’t care for herself—and are now stepping in to help raise her children through the heartbreak.
If you’ve ever loved someone so deeply you couldn’t imagine the world without them, please help carry Sammi’s light forward by helping the people she loved most. The figure below is a random arbitrary number. Her lucky number was three. The boys and her parents need a lot, but anything can help. It all adds up.
Donate. Share. Honor her memory by giving her boys the future she would have moved mountains to give.
