Hello,
My name is Greg Lloyd and I'm an Australian/ Irish jazz piano player based in Ireland for the past 15 years about to finish off my second album, 'Early Train', with my fusion world /jazz band GLG – Greg Lloyd Group.
The band released our first album, 'Long Way Home', back in 2011 and it had rave reviews from critics here and abroad. The music has been played on radio worldwide including the US, Europe, Australia and Japan where it is has been distributed. You can hear the music on www.greglloydmusic.com.
We recorded our second album in the studio earlier this year and it has been self-funded to date. We are asking for some help now with the next part of the process so we can complete the editing, mixing, mastering and duplication. We also really want to record some additional parts with traditional Irish and World musicians. Your contribution will enable us to fund these important steps and finish the album.
We are aiming to complete all of the above steps by the end of August and plan to launch the album in Dublin in a venue TBC in October/ November 2019. Your contribution now would be amazing and would enable us to achieve this.
The new music comprises a mix of my original compositions in different jazz styles influenced by growing up in Sydney, my time living in Ireland, a few years in Paris and a year spent in North Africa where I studied with 'Chaabi' masters in Algiers and collaborated with Damon Albarn. The band have been performing together for over 15 years and we can't wait to share our next album. We have booking agents in Japan, France and the UK waiting to hear the new album and as soon as it is ready we can start promoting it and touring.
We've been working with some amazing sound engineers here in Ireland, including Ivan Jackman @ the Hellfire Dublin Mountains and Hally @ Art-house studios in Kildare. We will be mastering the album in Munich with the same team who mastered the debut album as they did a phenomenal job!
The fantastic thing about crowd funding is it gives you a chance to be part of the process. Your contribution will go towards creating something really special and we will ensure you get regular updates of what is going on.
