Glen's Urgent Surgery: Insurance Denied

Donation protected
Back in August, my dad Glen Herzog had a corrective back surgery. He had a rod put in for scoliosis as well as his spine fused together. After years of dealing with back pain, he finally was able to do the surgery in hopes that it would help him. Unfortunately it did just the opposite. The doctor who did the surgery on my dad put the screws in the wrong place and put them in too deep. Because of this, my dad has been in excruciating pain ever since, and has suffered a lot of nerve damage. After a month of not progressing, not being able to walk, and in constant pain, the doctor agreed to do a second surgery and remove some of the screws. It helped relive some of the pain, but not much. This doctor basically told my dad that the pain was in his head and there was nothing more he could do for him. After getting a second and third opinion, those doctors confirmed what we suspected, which was the screws were not in the right place, causing my dad incredible pain. The third doctor has agreed to do a surgery to help my dad remove the screws, but he needs to do it quick before there is permanent nerve damage, and before more tissue grows around the screws. The surgery is scheduled for January 27th. Unfortunately today his insurance called saying that he was denied, they will not cover it because they don't think it is necessary. It is more than necessary though! If he does not get this surgery he will not be able to have a normal life again. My dad went from being an active person, always working on his cabin, and garden and doing things with his kids and grandkids to now not even being able to walk on his own. He is in constant pain, and hasn't been able to go back to work. He also does not qualify for disability because they say this was a pre existing condition, though the doctor created the problem while trying to fix the pre existing condition. We are at a loss, and need your help! Please share this if you cannot help donate, we need our dad to be ok! Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts!!
