Saving Glenn Morgan's Home
Donation protected
Glenn Morgan and his wife, Alison, find themselves between a rock and a hard place and need some help. Many of you may know Glenn as the hammered dulcimer musician at Renaissance Faires and the Great Dickens Christmas Fair at the Cow Palace in South San Francisco. And by now you likely have some of Glenn's magical CDs like Southwind and D is for Dulcimer. I think I have them all!
Many may not know that Glenn and Alison are also deeply involved in critter rescue and provide a home for 8 parrots, at last count, many with severe problems requiring ongoing care, and a 100-plus pound Sulcata tortoise.
Being a full time musician presents some difficulties maintaining sufficient income to pay the bills. To amplify the income, Glenn has been doing handyman work and fine woodworking (cabinetry).
A few months ago they got an emergency re-set on their mortgage. One of the stipulations is an increase of $500 a month for several months, and after taking a hit on income overall, Glenn and Alison find themselves unable to make the payment during this critical “probationary” period.
October is the month they will be free of the onus of the extra financial burden. But to dig out of the hole and save their house of 15 years in Sonora - and assure safe passage to better times - we're making an appeal to friends, fans, and interested bystanders to raise $4,000, an amount which would help them through the next couple of months.
Losing a home is traumatic for anyone, and the stress and difficulty of facing this possibility with special-needs rescue critters makes it more so. One of the parrots, a Moluccan Cockatoo, is a feather-plucked screamer with a bum leg. He'd had 7 homes in two years before Glenn and Alison took him in. He has been with them for 17 years now.
Help, if you can, preserve Glenn and Alison’s home, and this sanctuary for rescued critters. Hearty thanks, indeed - the community wishes the Morgans dogspeed! Huzzah!
