Dear Family and Friends,

We have now concluded the Glenn Tabata Covid Treatment Support fundraiser. The love, support, and generosity from all of you has been beyond overwhelming! Thank You!
Your generosity will help the Tabata Family during their current reality and future unknown with medical bills and loss of income.

Today marks two months since Glenn was admitted to the hospital with Covid-19 symptoms. Today marks 56 days of Glenn being sedated and ventilated. Glenn remains in the ICU, where he continues to fight to take small steps towards recovery.

Please, continue to send positive energy and prayers for Glenn’s recovery and strength to Ulrika, Annika and Jack.

With appreciation,

Mia, friend of the Tabata Family

Glenn Tabata -  husband, father, son, brother, relative, neighbor, co-worker and friend was admitted to the Paoli ER early Christmas morning, struggling with fever, loss of taste and shortness of breath, but nothing at levels higher than he has felt before.

Shortly thereafter he was transferred to the ICU, where his medical condition deteriorated and has since January 1st been sedated and ventilated. His lungs have progressed beyond inflammatory to the scarring stage, changes that are non-reversible.
Glenn has during his time at the ICU been treated for damages that #Covid has left behind; abnormal vitals, collapsed lungs, UTI, fevers, infections, etc. The list is endless. His treatment has included sedation, ventilation, surgeries, proning, induced paralysis, medication, etc.

The medical team at the Paoli Hospital is and has been an amazing support to Glenn, Ulrika and the kids.

Ulrika, Jack and Annika’s journey have brought them a roller coaster ride they could never have imagined; coping with positive news about Glenn’s medical condition one minute only to be asked to prepare for the worst-case scenario the next. This has been the news they have endured more than five times!

Glenn’s condition remains critical. However, the good news is that Glenn has been relatively stable during the past week, to the point where various Doctors and hospitals have communicated about a possible lung transplant. We remain hopeful that Glenn will continue to fight to make this a reality. We remain hopeful that miracles will bring Glenn back to his family and we remain thankful for your continued positive energy and prayers for Glenn’s recovery, a road to recovery that will take time and patience.

As Ulrika and the kids continue to thread uncharted waters, the difficult task to bring some sense of normalcy to the family remains a challenge. Ulrika’s days and energy involve communicating with the hospital, ensuring that her kids are coping and now, the financial reality of medical bills, loss of income and all the future unknowns.

The Tabata Family is grateful for all the love and support they have received from near and far; meal train, gifts, flowers, cards, etc. It has been especially valuable with their immediate families living in Canada and Sweden.
I’m hoping we can continue to come together for Team Tabata and support with their current and pending medical bills, everyday bills, and any other financial needs they have. No contribution is too small.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank the amazing ICU Team at the Paoli Hospital for making it possible for Ulrika to visit Glenn today, on their 18th Wedding Anniversary! Their thoughtfulness went way beyond the call of duty.

Thank you for your continued love and support!
