On Wednesday, August 10, 2022, Glenn Reader passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack while at work at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital. To help his family with funeral and end-of-life expenses, we have created this Go-Fund-Me.
Glenn was a loving husband, father, son, and brother. He lived life to the fullest, creating joy wherever he went. He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Melodie, and adult children, Daniel Reader and his daughters Eva and Eleanor; Christopher Reader and fiance Nikki; Hannah Stein and husband, Jaden; and Samuel Reader. We must not leave out his devoted puppers, Luna, Lady, grandpups/cats Suki, Royce, Bean and Lillith. We cannot express the loss everyone is feeling at this time.
Glenn worked in Guest Services at Oklahoma Surgical Hospital. He had a host of colleagues who became great friends as well. They will sorely miss him, as will we all.
His sudden death leaves a hole in all our lives that no one else can fill.
He worked hard to provide for his family, volunteering at the Mounds United Methodist Church as co-Youth Leader, at the Sapulpa Public Library as their D&D Dungeons Master and Games Guru and basically anywhere his wife volunteered in their hometown of Mounds, OK from parades to festivals and everything in between.
Glenn was a board game fiend and loved to share his love of gaming with everyone he knew. If you met Glenn, you would eventually find yourself playing a game, either Dungeons and Dragons or a board game, and fall in love with gaming too. Settlers of Catan was a family favorite, and they still speak to each other after playing it.
His Memorial Service will be Wednesday, August 17 at 11 a.m. at the Mounds First Assembly of God Church. As Glenn was an organ donor, he will live on in the lives of those he touched and those who are his donor recipients. There will be no public viewing, as it was his request. All are welcome to attend the Memorial Service.
As Glenn's death was unexpected, the family thanks you for anything you can do or give to help during this time. Sister-in-Love, Kim Lucas will work with friends and family for meals or services.
Family is still arriving, but we will gather for meals each evening at the Mounds United Methodist Church at 6 p.m Friday, August 12 - Sunday, August 14. Friends are welcome to stop by and share anecdotes or stories.
The Glenn Reader Family would like to thank you for your prayers, support and kindness.
There are no words to express how much it is appreciated.
As Glenn would say at the start of each D&D campaign,
Live Magic or Die!
