Dear cherished family and friends,

I am Marcus Henry, middle son of Glenn R. Henry, Sr. and Julia E. Henry. On behalf of my other siblings (Glenn "Ditto" Jr., Tosha Mensah, Joshua Henry), myself, and our mother, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for the love and support shown to our family since the recent passing of our beloved husband and father, Glenn Henry, Sr.

Our father was a great man. He was a dutiful and dedicated husband, a supportive and present father, a loyal friend to all, a master gardener who enjoyed fellowshipping with nature, but above all else, he was an exemplary human being. Our father possessed a generous and indomitable spirit, one powered by his faith and his overwhelming desire to fellowship with and to help others...seeking only that they pay it forward when the opportunity presented itself.

This is the opportunity to pay it forward. The purpose of this gofundme page is to solicit your financial support. Support that will aid us, the Henry family, in continuing to honor our father by restoring and maintaining his cherished garden and renaming it the Glenn R. Henry Sr. Memorial Garden. Over the years, our father worked tirelessly to not only plant and sow seeds for nourishment and sustenance but he also planted seeds of education, upliftment, self-improvement and self-reliance. His garden served as a safe space for countless people...a place where they could not only eat but recieve wise counsel and encouragement from someone with a genuine spirit of care and concern. To all who showed up, our father gave freely.

In the last few years, he was less and less able to attend to his garden on a daily basis as his health declined. His remaining wish was to be well enough again to resume gardening daily and spending time sharing and spreading the good news of “growing your own food” in his garden. Your donations will help to keep his wish alive.

Our goal is raise enough capital for the memorial garden to be a semi-public space for small gatherings, gardening how-to clinics and other agriculture-centered educational events, and of course his beloved “Food Lab” a place to taste organically and locally grown food for those interested. Donations will be used for its creation/rennovation and upkeep with the final goal of the garden becoming a non-profit entity to help continue on the legacy of Glenn R. Henry, Sr.

The sphere of influence Glenn created is enormous in its expanse and depth...he was loved and respected by many near and far. Many have asked how they can support the family in our time of grieving, and this is probably the most appropriate way to honor such a beloved soul.

Any and all donations will be recieved with love and will be administered with the care and consideration that our father would have given.

PS - We will have two memorials. One will be a virtual memorial on May 6th 2023...this will allow all who are unable to travel to pay their respects. The second memorial will be an in-person memorial BBQ and celebration of life in the garden on July, 29 2023. Additional details will follow.
