Glenn Smith Accident Emergency Fund

Glenn Smith, our dear brother and friend to many, took a catastrophic fall off of his dry-docked boat on Friday, August 11th. There is a fracture in his pelvis, and more troubling, there are fractures in his skull. He has suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and faces a long road to recovery.

When he fell, Glenn's Apple Watch notified his emergency contacts and also called 911. He spent about 30 hours at the Portsmouth ER and ICU, with incredible support from the team there. After they determined his injuries required trauma 1 hospital care, a paramedic crew airlifted him to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston early Sunday morning. It's one of the best hospitals in the country, and he’s got an incredible team there that's monitoring his brain bleeds, bruises and a clot that is stable at present.

He may need surgery, but doctors advise patience for now. Everybody is in shock.

Glenn has a true fighting spirit, and when he’s brought up out of sedation enough for checks, he has some lucidity. He knows that Graham and Becka are there with him, and he knows he’s being taken care of. He wants to get out of that bed like hell though, so it was a rough first 24 hours.

As you probably know, Glenn is a self-employed massage therapist and chef. With the long road of recovery and rehabilitation ahead of him, it's hard to know when he will be able to get back to work. So with that in mind, we’re asking that all of his friends, family and clients donate whatever they can to help cover the cost of Glenn's living expenses and eventual medical bills.
