Hi, I'm Scott Slaba, a friend of Glenn Dryden. Glenn is not only a friend, he's a fellow Washington State Official. I and another friend, Marty Rasmussen, are helping out with this fundraiser after Glenn was involved in a car accident recently, spent some time in the hospital, lost his car, and now has some other health-related issues that have emerged as a consequence. We're helping set this page up not only because Glenn's a great guy and a friend, but because he and his family are having a bad stretch of luck right now, and that's what friends do. It's what's community is all about.
I would like to share with you this statement by Glenn's wife that I think summarizes their current situation better than anyone else could:
My husband's name is Glenn Dryden. On Friday, April 28th, he was involved in a violent car crash that has resulted in being hospitalized a few days. He is finally home but we are faced with the situation of having the only person able to bring in an income not being able to work due to his need to recover. As a result of the accident, he has had to have fluid drained to reduce the swelling on his brain. At the same time as this was happening, he was diagnosed with a heart condition requiring a pacemaker inplant.
Thankfully he is now at home, but as I said, the accident has resulted in Glenn not being able to resume his work for Franz as a delivery driver, and has cut short his work as an umpire and referee for the Washington Officials Association and other local leagues. For as long as I have known him, Glenn has given everything he has for his friends when they have needed something. Anything you can give at this time will be gratefully received, as the effect of this has been, quite honestly, pretty devastating. Please keep us in your thoughts as well. And thank you so much!
