Help support Glenn in his fight to recovery!
Donation protected
As many of you know, our father Glenn was diagnosed with liver failure on November 3. After a terrifying few weeks, the doctors at Cleveland Clinic Hospital informed us that the only path forward was a liver transplant. He was so ill that within three weeks, he had moved to the top of the donor-recipient list and was placed with a match on November 30. He is fortunate and blessed. It was a miracle to have gotten the call so quickly. We are so happy to share that he has come out of surgery successfully but continues to be in the ICU. We ask that you please pray that his body continues to heal and accept his new liver as he continues to fight for his life.
The transplant surgery does not mark the end of his fight. In many ways, it will be just the start of a very long road ahead. As we are now getting ready to tackle the post-surgery phase, we are hoping for help covering critical medical-related expenses for his care. We would be remiss not to mention how blessed we are that he is in the hands of a fantastic team at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Weston, Florida. They have all been outstanding at caring for our dad and keeping our worries at bay. But when he is not in their care, he lives alone with limited resources. Your contribution to this GoFundMe page would mean the world to us as we navigate this challenging time.
While we are lucky that our dad has health insurance and a long-term care policy, there are a variety of outstanding costs, including rehabilitation to get him strong again, deductibles and copays, regular nursing and home care, a nurse case manager who can take him to doctor appointments and the hospital when we are not in Florida and the cost of extensive medications that are not covered. He must have 24/7 care in the first phase outside the hospital. Any unused funds will go to an organization that helps transplant candidates without insurance get the help they need.
Our dad is the strongest, kindest person with the biggest heart. He is a fighter and our superhero. We all appreciate the warm wishes and kind thoughts we have received. Please pray for our dad, we love him dearly.
Thank you,
