In loving memory of Glenn Cossitt!

On August 22, 2019, our beloved father..husband..grandfather..brother..friend Glenn passed away suddenly and unexpectedly.

He was was rushed to Hardin Memorial Hospital on Wednesday August 14th by EMS with GI bleeding. His bleeding was stabilized in the ICU and a CT was ordered. Unrelated to the bleeding, metastatic bone cancer was found on his entire spine. A bone biopsy was performed on Tuesday August 20th and he was due to be discharged Wednesday the 21st.

Wednesday August 21, 2019 at 1:30pm he passed out from a massive internal bleed. The doctors said he was too unstable to do surgery to stop the bleeding. Over 24 hours he was given approximately 30 units of blood and platelets, but as fast as the nurses were giving it to him, he was losing it. His body couldn’t keep up and he was placed on a ventilator and dialysis because his organs started shutting down.

The hopes of Glenn coming home were soon shattered when the doctors told us there wasn’t anything more they could do. At this point we all had to make the hardest decision of our lives, which was to make him comfortable and remove all machines and medicine.  On August 22, 2019 at 3:01pm he took his last breath.

If you ever had the opportunity to know Glenn, you would know he never met a stranger and made a lasting impression on anyone he met. He cared so much for his patients at the family business he owned for almost 30 years, gave everything he had for his family and friends, and lived to spend precious moments with his two grandchildren.

It would’ve been against his character for Glenn to ask anyone for help. During this unfortunate time, we can only hope that family, friends, and anyone who knew him can help contribute to his family.

With Glenn being the sole provider for his family, any and all contributions will go directly towards:
Funeral expenses
Medical bills
Household expenses
Until further arrangements can be made with immediate family
