Who are we?
Our school robotics team ‘Cosmo Bots’ won the National First Lego League Robotics Championship South in Melbourne in November and have been invited to represent Australia at the FIRST LEGO League ‘City Shaper’ World Festival held in Houston, Texas in April 2020.
What are we raising money for?
Our team is hoping to raise funds to enable them to compete at the World Festival 2020 in Houston, Texas. The City Shaper theme for this year’s competition involves working collaboratively to develop innovative ideas for a stronger more sustainable future – one that is built together. Young teams learn that they have the power to change the world when they share their ideas with their community.
Participation in this competition will enable our young team to become inspired science and technology leaders, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation and creativity, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
Our team will share their innovative ideas with the wider global community in Houston at the World Festival as well as learning from the other teams. This is the world’s largest celebration of STEM for students bringing together tens of thousands of students from around the world who participate in K-12 robotics programs – along with educators, industry professionals, sponsors, universities and other organisations.
