Glenda's Final Expenses
Donation protected
August 29, 2020, Glenda was taken to the ER by her oldest daughter and son-in-law with what we thought was probably appendicitis. How mistaken we were!
The following month was a CT scan, ultrasound, MRI, neurologist, GI doctor, liver biopsy appointments. Dementia/Alzheimer were ruled out for memory issues. Ultrasound led to endometrial cancer likely. Liver biopsy revealed liver cancer...metastatic small cell carcinoma, metastasized from the lungs. The diagonsis came just less than two weeks ago!!! From the day she was goven the diagnosis, she has been living with woth her daughter and son-in-law (Ralph and Shelly Crawford). The cancer had spread and continues to spread. The spread has been so wide that she is not a candidate for a feeding tube and chemo was being given a 5% chance to allow another year. She opted to not do that. No treatment and they were giving her a possibility of 2-6 months. It's been less than two weeks and we have been told that if somebody wants to see her, they need to plan for that in the next couple days.
This morning she was not able to get out of bed, to the bathroom or living room without being moved by the seat of her walker . She can't support her weight to hold her head up or to stand on her own. She is wearing oxygen full time now and sleeping 95% of the day. She's probably lost 50 pounds now since that ER visit August 29.
She is declining quickly. One of her classmates reached out to me to ask if there was a GoFundMe as some classmates would like to donate. ESHS Class of 1969 is a special class that most classes could take notes from. This class STILL gets together often...monthly probably! They still seem to be in every Homecoming parade that happens. They seem to be a class that has a unique bond and continues to love and support one another after all these years. The $6900 is a shout out to this class. Thank you Class of 69 for reaching out to my mom in several different ways! Your support is appreciated!
