Glenda Needs Our Support

Hello, my name is Gail Jarocki, and I am writing on behalf of Glenda Lubelsky,

Glenda and I have been dear friends since she became an active member of Self-Realization Fellowship in 1972. An individual of high integrity, Glenda is also fiercely independent. Those who know her well will appreciate how painful it was for her to acknowledge that she had no alternative but to request financial assistance.

Glenda contracted Candida Albicans — an overgrowth of intestinal bacteria that can affect the immune system. An inexperienced and incompetent doctor concluded without taking any tests that it was only an allergy and prescribed antihistamines for three weeks which, of course, didn’t help. Glenda’s condition worsened, and she developed diarrhea and incontinence. A second doctor she consulted prescribed over-the-counter products that did not address the problem but caused her to feel nauseated. She was finding it difficult to swallow even bland liquids, and it seemed that the whole alimentary canal was inflamed. As a consequence, Glenda has been bedridden for two months.

Glenda started doing her online research.  She discovered a wonderfully nourishing organic high protein drink that her digestive system could tolerate and is making slow progress.  However, she has lost a tremendous amount of weight during this period and is extremely weak.

Because her insurance company doesn’t cover the cost, Glenda has to pay for daily visits of a caregiver who assists her in sitting up and getting in and out of bed, in addition to her personal hygiene. The caregiver also cleans the apartment and does the laundry,  and of course, takes care of Glenda’s cat!  She prepared a delicious broth, but Glenda’s digestive system is not yet able to tolerate it. However, the good news is that Glenda can now handle small amounts of probiotic yogurt.

If progress continues at the same rate, Glenda expects to have regained her health and strength in about six to eight weeks.

Daily expenses average $150 ($1,050 a week), so $8,500 will be needed to cover the next eight weeks, and Glenda's savings are running dry.

Any contribution you can make to help Glenda get through this challenging time will be deeply appreciated. Feel free to forward this message to a friend or share this page with anyone you know can also make a difference. No amount is too small, and if you cannot help financially, your prayers and good wishes will be gratefully received.

Sincerely,

Gail Jarocki
