Glen Conner's Burial Fund
Donation protected
We know Glen as someone that can endure a lot. At the age of 9 Glen was burned over 25% of his body and went through over a year of extremely painful skin grafting at Shriners Burn Institute for Children.
Fast forward to the age of 51 and being diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in August of 2012. Certainly too young for any of us to see our life coming to a close. In addition to the colon cancer the metastasis affected the lower lobe of his right lung. He went through colon re-sectioning and had the lower lobe of his right lung removed and then began his first round of chemotherapy. After such a childhood trauma you would think chemotherapy might be comparable at which how much pain one can endure, but as we discover cancer and chemo come with a level of pain all of its own.
The cancer returned in 2014 this time with a vengeance. The chemo this time around was especially hard as 2nd rounds usually are, and he suffered severe reactions to the protocol this time. His blood pressure was extremely elevated and severe swelling put him in and out of the emergency room. He tried dealing with it as much as he could but decided to stop chemo treatments at the end of last year.
He was blessed to have a son who gave him his first grandchild, Nora Grace. It was the one bright light in this process and he really hung on to see her for the first time. This was his last goal and he reached it in July. He spent as much time as possible with her; she is the true light of his life.
Glen’s passing is imminent and this could be very soon. Everything possible is being done to keep him comfortable. His pain level is high so his sedation is equally as high, we are assuming it has now reached the brain and the bones.
Glen has neither burial money nor any savings, and anything he did have has been used for medical expenses.
We are trying to grant one of his last wishes, which is to be buried next to his father at Consulata Cemetary in Lake Charles, La. As anyone knows this process becomes a huge amount of money which we are short.
I have given to Go Fund me programs in the past; I know how powerful it is when we all come together that great things can be accomplished. Your help is greatly needed for Glen, nothing is too small! We will also regularly update you on his condition.
Anything over the needed amount will be donated to charity.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
