GLAD Equipment Fund

When it was announced that a new aquatic center was going to be built at Jefferson High School, we were excited that the new design was budgeted to include a 3-meter board, overhead rigging, and adequate space for the trampoline. This was a great opportunity to help improve the diving program for the Bronchos and Greater Lafayette Area Diving! However, months before the pool is set to open, Deana was informed not only that the space designated for the trampoline was too small and that the overhead rigging would not be possible due to the placement of the lighting, but that she would also have to purchase a new folding trampoline and spotting rig at her own expense. 

So, we need your help!

If you know Deana, you know that diving is her passion. She started diving when she was in seventh grade. Greater Lafayette Area Diving (GLAD) was created by her father, Gary Snapp, when Deana started diving at Jeff High School in 1985. Deana went on to dive at Vincennes University and began coaching the West Lafayette Red Devils during her second year. She continued coaching there for nine years before she took a position with Jeff High School as a Physical Education instructor and the Bronchos head diving coach. In 1994, Deana became the sole proprietor of GLAD.

Greater Lafayette Area Diving is just a small, age group club that was originally created to give everyone an opportunity to learn how to dive. Deana has never run the club to make a profit. And, despite the lack of equipment more common in bigger clubs, GLAD has produced a number of champions. With your help, they will produce many more.
