Unexpected Medical Bills

Hi,

My names Will and honestly this is not something I'm thrilled with having to post but here we are.

On July 20th I was hospitalized due to excruciating back pain. I was unable to walk unassisted, vomiting from the pain, and couldn't sit down. I was taken to the Emergency Room and I stood there for 7 hours patiently waiting to be seen. When I was finally brought back after my blood work was ran I was informed that I had a severe kidney infection and would require IV antibiotics to deal with it. They also stated I needed to remain in their care overnight for observation. I had asked if I could go home, take pill versions of the medication, but it was insisted that I needed to be here. (I live literally up the street, if anything happened I could have very easily come back.)

So I stayed.

Had I known that I'd be saddled with a nearly 9,000 dollar bill (and that's *after* my insurance has paid their part) I never would have stayed there. I've called the hospital, called my insurance, and there's really nothing more that can be done here.

I owe because I chose not to be sick and in pain.

I don't want to be a burden, and I don't like asking for help, but my friends encouraged me to make this.
