DESPERATE NEED FOR HEART SURGERY
Alazar is a very loved 8 year-old boy who lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Alazar has Chronic Rheumatic Heart Disease--- the disease has progressed to the point that he needs major heart surgery, including valve replacement. This type of surgery is not available in Ethiopia, so he must be flown out of the country for treatment. Without surgery, Alazar's chances of recovery are zero. No hope.
So how do I know of this dear child? I consider him my family. You see, we adopted his half-sister about 5 years ago. We have managed to keep in touch with what remains of my daughter's family, including little Alazar. It is my sincere desire that my daughter and her brother sometime meet and bond as siblings. But without Alazar getting the help he needs, that future meeting becomes only a fantasy. He needs surgery. Without it, he has no future--and then my daughter would never get to know her brother. My daughter has already been through enough heart break. I desire for her to know her brother. This is family.
If I had the means, I would pay for the surgery myself. However, we have 8 kids were are financially responsible for--- 3 bios and 5 adopted internationally. To add to the drama, both my daughter and I have had brain surgery this year. Although we are both recovering and are so blessed to have access to top-notch medical care, our funds are diminished. We have no ability to pay for an international procedure. So dear reader, we are asking for your help to save this little child's life--- a life so dear to many....
