Support Wendy's Family in Their Time of Need

Hello everyone,

One of our cherished team members at Wellstar Health Systems, Wendy, has recently faced an unimaginable loss. While she was hard at work on Thursday, April 24, 2025, she received devastating news—her home, over 30 minutes away, was engulfed in flames. Thankfully, no one was harmed, but the fire destroyed everything she and her children owned. They were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

For over three years, I’ve had the privilege of knowing Wendy. She is an incredible mother to three wonderful children and a phenomenal leader within the Nutrition and Food Services team at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. Her dedication has helped our team overcome challenges to ensure our patients receive the care and nourishment they need. She also goes above and beyond to support her fellow team members whenever she can. Despite her many responsibilities, she recently resumed her studies to pursue a bachelor's degree in business management, aiming to create a better future for her kids.

Life often throws unexpected challenges our way, and just when Wendy was building a path toward a brighter future, she was struck with this heartbreaking setback. But setbacks don’t have to become roadblocks—let’s help turn this mountain into a speed bump for Wendy and her family.

They have lost everything—clothes, shoes, furniture, appliances, and the comforts that make a house a home.
