Hi everyone, my name is Joe, though many of you know me as Mordecai. I have been part of the San Antonio furry community for many years and it has been one of the greatest joys of my life to bring people together. Whether it was through music, game nights, food, laughter, or just making sure others felt welcome, I have always tried to give my time and energy back to the people around me.
On September 6th, 2025, my car’s transmission suddenly broke down, leaving me stranded nearly an hour from home in the middle of nowhere. A friend came out to make sure I was safe, but getting my car towed back to San Antonio was already a big expense. When I had the car taken to a trusted garage, they told me the transmission may be completely damaged and would likely require a full swap. The cost is over $6,000 because of parts availability and shipping.
Looking at the Kelley Blue Book value of my car compared to the repair costs, it may not even be worth fixing. To put it bluntly, my car may need to be scrapped because of this one issue. For me, this is a huge loss. Like most people, my car is how I get my errands done, how I see friends, and how I keep my life moving forward. Funds from this GFM will go toward searching for another used vehicle.
I have never been someone who likes to ask for help, but right now I really need it. I have always done my best to give to the community, and now I am in a place where I need the community’s help. Every little bit counts, and even just sharing this fundraiser makes a difference.
If I have ever made you smile, helped you feel welcome, or supported you in some way, I hope you can help me reach my goal or share this GFM to those around you. Thank you all for reading and for any support you can give.
