Help Nora Get Healthy
Donation protected
Family and Friends,
My sister’s new dog Nora is fighting for her life, and could use all the help she can get. I’m asking for your support to help donate to her vet bills.
Nora is a 1-year old pup who was adopted by my sister and brother-in-law (Kelly & Jeff) back in December 2021. In the 5 short months they’ve had her, she’s become an integral part of their family and is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs you will meet. Until now she’s been perfectly healthy, with no pre-existing conditions or any health issues whatsoever.
Last Friday, Nora woke them up in critical condition in the middle of the night. She was vomiting, bleeding, experiencing diarrhea, etc. They rushed her to the animal hospital and learned she had been exposed to something that caused an allergic reaction so severe that her organs were shutting down. Her blood pressure had dropped, heart rate elevated, her liver started failing, and she couldn’t breathe.
It’s still unclear what has caused all this. Nora was at the dog park earlier that day where she could have been exposed to something, and had also been in a yard treated with fertilizers earlier that week. But the vets cannot identify what could have caused a perfectly healthy dog to take a turn so quickly.
Nora has been in the hospital for 6 days and has made some improvements so far. Her heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing have returned to normal. But right now, the most concerning thing is that her liver function still needs to improve before she can go home. The vets are treating her with medicine and her numbers are slowly improving. The vets think that because she's so young, there is a chance her liver could regenerate and start functioning as normal, but she needs more time in the hospital for the medicine to make this possible.
Kelly and Jeff have done everything they can to help Nora pull through this, but the vet bills are starting to add up. If Nora doesn’t spend more time in the hospital receiving medication, her liver will not be able to heal. After 6 days in the hospital and more on the horizon, they are being stretched beyond their means to support her medical care financially.
I know finances are tight for everyone right now, but anything you could give to help them pay for Nora’s vet bills would be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly towards helping keep Nora in the hospital. The longer they keep her in there to receive medicine, the better the chance she has at recovering.
Kelly and Jeff are the type of people who always stand on their own two feet and rarely ask others for help. But right now, they could really use some support to help save their four-legged family member. Any support you can give them – donations, prayers, etc. – would mean the world to them.
We will do our best to keep you updated on Nora’s condition. At this time, it is difficult for Kelly and Jeff to keep up with the volume of calls and texts they have received about Nora’s condition. But if you’d like to leave them a message via GoFundMe to show your support, that would also mean a lot to them.
Thank you in advance for all your help.
