I’m making this fundraiser for my mom, Lisa Lastinger, to help her get back on her feet after some medical crises. On May 10th Lisa was admitted to the ICU and placed on a ventilator for several days while she battled RSV, H Flu and eventually septic shock. Complications from this included PRES (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome) which caused some temporary swelling in the brain that led to minor injuries, along with a few small strokes.

After two long weeks in the hospital, she was eventually sent home with supplemental oxygen, lots of new medications, mobility restrictions and home health aides. This includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, a home nurse, etc.

Things were going okay for a couple weeks, until June 6th when she suffered a heart attack. She was immediately taken back to the hospital where they were able to put a stent in and open the artery back up. She is now in the cardiac ICU for monitoring, once again dealing with some breathing difficulties and possible infection.

As long as the road’s been so far, there is still a long way left to go. Rehabilitation is going to take a while and she will not be returning to work anytime soon. Between hospital bills, prescriptions, home aides, hospital parking/gas and the seemingly endless amount of medical equipment needed, we are desperate for any relief to help her keep her mind as stress-free as possible during these times.

We are so appreciative for the support and look forward to getting her better so she can start to return to a semi-normal life. I’ll be sure to keep the situation up-to-date here for all of her friends and family.
