My name is Kieran McLain, and I have been playing the cello for almost nine years. I started because of my love of music, and now I love having a unique skill. In my nine years of playing, I have had many amazing oppurtunities come to me because of my musicality. These have included everything from concerts at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall to playing at retirement homes.

Now  I have a chance to travel with Metropolitan Youth Symphony to China, to play four concerts and to meet students at the Central Music Conservatory. I have played in MYS for five years, and I started in the second lowest group. Over the years, I have worked my way up through the groups to Symphony Orchestra, the highest level group, which offers me this amazing oppurtunity.

I would love to go and make musical connections around the world, but the price tag on the entire trip is very high. I would use any money that you send me to pay for the trip.  We will be travelling in June of 2016. I will be infinitely grateful to anybody who supplies me with funds, and I hope that, together, we can meet my goal of $3,700. Thank you so much!
