My Father's Funeral Fund

Hello,

My name is Mac, and I am humbling asking for your help. My father, Mark Routh, got really ill in June of this year. Due to his illness, I started staying with him to take care of him at this time. After several doctor visits, he was diagnosed with stage 4 Mesothelioma in July.

My father, Mark Routh, is an amazing and supportive father, grandfather, and friend. He raised me as a single parent, and was alway there for my children. Even through his illness before this one, he was always there for us. It pains me to see him go through this, and even during this time, he finds ways to ask me how I am doing, contantly apologizing to me and thanking me for taking care of him. He always says, "I'm sorry Chicken". Chicken is the nickname he's called me since I was a young girl. And I am constantly trying to assure him that he has nothing to apologize for, and that I love him.

In July, the doctors initially said that he could go through treatment and that there was a chance to prolong his life. However, a week later, they informed us that the cancer had spread too aggressively, and there was nothing they could do. The best thing to do was to try our best to keep him comfortable. He opted out of hospice care, and to come home for the rest of his time so he can be with us. Since I have been caring for him, his health has declined. Today, on August, 25, 2022, his home nurse took me aside and informed me that he has declined more rapidly than she thought and that he has about a week left to live. She told me that I should start making funeral arrangements.

I honestly don't know what to do. My family and I do not have the financial means to pay for a funeral. In addition, I had to stop working in order to take care of him since June due to him needing 24 hour care. Although it is very hard to do this, I am asking for your help. I do not know where to turn, and I feel like I have exhausted all of my options.

Please help with anything that you are able to. Your donation will go to funeral cost and medical expenses.
