Please Give G a helping hand
I’m telling this story to help someone very dear to me, my brother.
His name is Glen. He likes to be called G because its cooler.:)
In 2001, G started noticing his right index finger started twitching for no reason. He didn’t think much of it at the time, but over the years the twitching progressively got worse. What he didn’t know at that time was this was just the beginning. He didn’t realize at that point that he had early onset Parkinson’s disease. It has now developed into full blown Parkinson’s Disease, along with the more recognizable symptoms of rigidity, tremors and the hunching over - as well as many other difficulties, from the inability to move at times, to the feeling of being a burden on his friends and family.
G is not able to do a lot of the things he loves, like drawing and painting as well as hiking. Its been a very hard road for him to walk needless to say. But the toughest blow that he has had to face is his wife of 28 years divorcing him over two years ago, due to the strain the disease had on their relationship. Sadly, his divorce has not concluded. As I’m sure anyone who has experienced this is well aware, legal costs are very pricey and have added up substantially. To top all of that off- if that isn’t enough- he also needs intensive dental work. This gofundme is intended to help him with these burdens, as well as get him through this very difficult time until he can finally put this very painful situation behind him.
G is a free spirited, kind soul. He would give anyone in need every last bit of himself. This is the most difficult thing for him through this whole ordeal- the feeling of not being able to help others.
Any of the funds raised will be used to help pay for his legal fees and help him with some of his dental work. The picture above is of G and a good friend of ours, April, who also serves as his caretaker.
