Hey guys, my name is Elena, and for the past 12 years I have worked in education.
Supporting children and families has never just been my job, it has been my calling.
This month, as I turn 30, I’ve made one of the hardest, yet most meaningful decisions of my life. I have chosen to step away from my job, and finally do what has lived quietly in my heart since childhood. I still remember being around six years old, telling my parents that one day I wanted to help children who had less than me. At the time, it felt like a child’s dream. At 30, I’ve realised it’s a responsibility I can no longer ignore.
I will be travelling alone to Africa (with Ghana currently being considered), to volunteer and support local communities. I’m going not with answers, but with open hands, and a deep respect for the people that I will meet. My purpose is simple - to help meet basic, immediate needs for children and families who are struggling.
Every single donation raised through this page will go directly to the children and families. None of the funds will be used for my travel or personal costs. 100% of the money raised will be used on the ground.
Your support will help provide the following:
Food for children and families
Clothing and basic necessities
School and learning resources (I'll get them some fun toys too!)
This journey is not about fixing or saving anyone. It is about standing alongside people with compassion, and love. When we meet people with dignity and presence, even small acts can carry enormous weight.
I will share updates throughout my journey so you can see where your support is going and the lives it is touching. You will be a part of every step.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page or sending prayers for the children and families I will meet means more than you know.
Thank you for staying with me on this journey, and I am so looking forward to the help we will be able to provide!
Jesus found me, and I am following His calling. I don’t walk alone.
