Help Us Give Wendy Gould The Farewell She Deserves ❤️
Our beautiful Wendy sadly passed away at just 58 years old after a long and incredibly difficult battle with ill health.
For the last three years, Wendy fought with remarkable strength whilst undergoing dialysis and dealing with multiple complex health conditions. Through every hospital appointment, treatment and setback, her husband Simon never left her side. Together with their daughter Katie, they loved and cared for Wendy every single step of the way.
Sadly, despite planning ahead and taking out a funeral policy, we have recently discovered that it will not pay out due to policy conditions surrounding Wendy’s passing. This has left Simon and Katie in the heartbreaking position of trying to navigate unimaginable grief whilst also facing difficult financial decisions about how to honour Wendy’s wishes.
Wendy did not want anything extravagant. She simply wanted a celebration of her life, filled with bright colours, music, laughter, love and the people who mattered most to her.
We are creating this fundraiser to help give Wendy the dignified farewell she deserves and to ease some of the immediate financial pressures on Simon and Katie.
Any funds raised will go directly towards Wendy’s funeral costs and easing some of the immediate financial pressures on Simon and Katie as they navigate life without her. This includes allowing Katie some time away from work to grieve the loss of her mum without immediate financial pressure and giving Simon some breathing space after years of being Wendy’s main support throughout her illness.
Whilst our initial target reflects Wendy’s funeral costs, any additional funds raised will be used to support Simon and Katie as they adjust to life after losing Wendy and begin rebuilding their lives without the person at the centre of their family.
We are not raising money for extravagances, expensive extras or lavish events. We simply want to honour Wendy with the love, dignity and respect she deserves whilst giving her family a little stability during the most difficult time of their lives.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page. Every share, kind word and act of support means more than you’ll ever know.
Wendy was deeply loved, and she always will be.
With love,
Wendy’s family ❤️
