Giving Tuesday: Lutheran Elementary School (2021)

Today is Giving Tuesday, an international day of giving in honor of the spirit of the season. Our little school works hard every year to cover our budget: tuition alone does not cover all of our operating costs, so we are only able to fill that gap with the generosity of our school community. This year, in addition to covering that gap, we are fundraising for a playground structure for our school yard in order to provide even more enriched opportunities for our children to play. There is a wealth of research that supports the benefit of physical play, and specifically, climbing, jumping, and sliding, on children’s physical and cognitive development and social emotional well-being. Giving Tuesday was an incredibly successful fundraiser last year- earning more than $10,000 for our school! This year our goal is to raise $15,000 which will bring us a lot closer to the $58,000 we need to build a playground structure in our recess yard. This Giving Tuesday, give the gift of PLAY!
