Giving Tori a little extra help

I’ve know Jessica , Tori’s mom for a few years now. When I learned of the heartache they face by not getting all the funding for Tori’s treatment it wasn’t a second thought to somehow help them out . If you’ve ever met Tori you have gotten the privilege to meet the sweetest, strongest , full of life little lady. I asked Jessica for a bit of help to explain Tori’s medical issues .
Tori’s health issues started at a very young age of one month old from then on we spent a lot of time at the Ronald McDonald house, It has not been easy for her from the beginning but when she was 5 1/2 months old and began eating food she had her first anaphylactic reaction the doctors told us if we hadn’t made it to the hospital when she did her story would be different and she would not have made it. From there it seems everything snowballed with Tori doctors say she is a-topic which means she has the allergies, asthma and eczema which are all fairly common but Tori‘s little body doesn’t do anything simple every reaction she has is severe and extreme from eczema outbreak‘s to asthma attacks to anaphylactic shock‘s, she has had staphylococcus infection time and time again. she has a huge team of doctors at the Stollery in Edmonton that take great care of her but have yet to find anything that could work to make her comfortable. for the last two years we have been seeing a specialist who has been controlling her symptoms with nebulizers and Prednisone but the steroid also comes with its own risks for long term treatment he is fairly confident tho that the treatment Xolair may be an answer for her, it will not solve all of her medical problems but it may help with the asthma allergies and eczema to make her much more comfortable. The treatment is very expensive and because of her young age insurance only covers so much and we are left with a chunk to pay out of pocket.
Xolair, is a medication originally designed to reduce sensitivity to allergens. It has been used to try to control severe allergic asthma, which does not respond to high doses of corticosteroids.
She will be starting the medication within the next week or 2 as soon as the last details have been finalized. what we know now is that she will require an injection every 2 weeks and the injections are very expensive she will require the medication for long term and at only 5 almost 6 years old she has a lot of life ahead of her!
Thank you for helping out this little girl and her family
