Granting Theresa’s Wish to be Buried

With a heavy heart, I share with you that our mother, sister, relative, friend, and Christian sister Theresa Elaine (Vincent) Doran, has passed on to the care and love of her precious Lord Jesus Christ. Theresa lived with Diabetes and, in her final years, was on Dialysis 3X a week. She was a double amputee and had other issues that impacted her mobility. Made many selfless contributions to her community as well as her church. She served on their board of directors, greeting people and guiding them to their seats every Sunday. She was a visible fixture in her community of Sioux Lookout, as people knew her as the ‘Lady in the little red scooter.’ She would make it to her dialysis appointments on her scooter, whether the weather was good or bad. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ was her motto in times of need.
Theresa leaves behind her two children, Silas and Nicole; grandchildren: Shaylynn, Atheena, Natasha, Abraham and Gregory; and her ten great-grandchildren. Theresa was the type of person who gave verbal cues as her final planning and assumed that oral agreements were binding in this case. Last wishes would be taken care of, all the i’s were dotted, and t’s were crossed. Unfortunately, this was not the case. My niece and nephew were shocked by the sudden loss and unprepared for all that goes along with planning a funeral. As their extended family, we felt the best way to make this happen was to create a GoFundMe page.
Any support is appreciated as we support her daughter Nicole and Son Silas as they begin the arduous process of planning for their mother’s funeral service and final resting place.
