Giving Season Grant-Matching Fundraiser!

ANSWER is proud to announce we have secured our first-ever grant from the Red Umbrella Fund! This operations grant will help us in growing our capacity as a small sex worker-lead organization fighting for the de-stigmatization and decriminalization of sex work in Detroit and beyond! We are excited to build power and extend our outreach efforts in the Metro Detroit area over the next two years with the support of this $20,000 grant. As an effort to take our work even further and support even more of our community we are launching a donation-matching fundraising campaign!
ANSWER members are asking our community, clients, allies, and fellow providers who have the means, to chip in toward our efforts to double our funds this giving season!
We are raising $20,000 by January 1st 2022. Join us in matching this milestone!
Your contribution will support us in:
-Continuing our Detroit Sex Worker Mutual Aid Fund, which has already supported over one-hundred local sex-workers through micro grants since 2020.
-Build a monthly outreach program to increase access to resources specifically for street-based sex workers in Metro Detroit.
-Revive our monthly ANSWER sex worker support group, as a place to find community and connect locally.
-Organize a two day power building training for sex workers in Detroit who are seeking skill-building in organizing, political education, and trauma-informed healing practices.
-Design and implement educational resources for local law and decision makers to inform policy around sex work, decriminalization and harm-reduction.
