My darling life partner and fiance Rodrigo Solano-Quesnel died at age 42 in a tragic accident this past July 11.

My parents paid for his funeral on July 21. It was a really moving funeral, and very Rod. It was held in Leamington, Ontario, where we had been living.

I'm holding a Celebration of Life for Rod in Toronto this Saturday, September 23 because many of the people who Rod loved, and who love Rod, live in Toronto or within driving distance of it.

I've created a GoFundMe to raise funds for the Celebration of Life because I'm anxious about finances right now. My life has been disrupted pretty significantly and while I'm OK financially right now for the most part, I'm having to be careful and I'm uncertain about how I'll sustain myself in the future.

I really want to give Rod as amazing and Rodesque a Celebration of Life as possible, one worthy of such a loving, whimsical, exuberant, joyful, deeply caring, unique, creative, wise, patient, compassionate soul, but I'm finding myself struggling with costs.

I'd really rather not need to ask my parents to cover the costs of this after they already generously covered the costs of his funeral (along with support from Olinda, the congregation he was the minister of).

The times are hard for most people right now, economically, and I would hate for anyone to give beyond their means. But if you are able to offer any help, it will be profoundly appreciated.
