Hello, my name is Victor Ruvalcaba. On behalf of my mom and 4 siblings, it is with very, very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dad Pedro Ruvalcaba.

My dad was one of the oldest of 14 children who had to grow up fast and work from a very young age to help maintain his family. He was a caring person who showed love in his own way, by always making sure we had food on the table, clothes on our backs, a roof over our heads. He tried helping others when he could by donating what little money he had left over to those in need. When the area we lived in didn't seem like a safe place to raise children anymore, he left everything behind and moved our family halfway across the country for new and better opportunities.

Pedro was a hard worker, firm father, devoted husband, and loving abuelo. He loved going out to eat and would drag himself out of bed if there was food and family involved. His one liners with a smirk made us laugh, would always give in to whatever his granddaughter wanted, and her smile would be his reward every time. It breaks my heart that he won't be there anymore when she says she wants to go to grandpa's house. He was there when we all needed him most, the rock that has kept us all anchored.

Unfortunately my dad struggled with diabetes and other health conditions in more recent years, which left him unable to do many of the things he wanted to do after retiring at age 67. Yet his passing still came without warning.

For someone who devoted so much time, effort, and life to his family, and who deeply cared for others as well, he deserves a proper sendoff in return. But with the unexpectedness of it all and the current high cost of everything, our family needs and would greatly appreciate any help in being able to at least give him that in return, along with helping our mom with the bills that have now been stacked on her plate. Hola, mi nombre es Víctor Ruvalcaba. De parte de mi mama y mis cuatro hermanas y hermano, con gran pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de nuestro padre, Pedro Ruvalcaba.

Mi padre era uno de los mayores de 14 hermanos. Tuvo que crecer rápido y trabajar desde muy joven para ayudar a mantener a su familia. Era una persona con mucho carino quien nunca fue enseñado a mostrar amor ni emociones como nos han enseñado hoy en dia en las películas, pero lo demostraba asegurándose siempre de que tuviéramos comida en la mesa, ropa y un techo. Cuando podía, intentaba ayudar a los demás donando el poco dinero que le sobraba a quienes lo necesitaban. Cuando la area donde vivíamos ya no parecía un lugar seguro para criar hijos, lo dejó todo y cruzo mitad del pais con nuestra familia en busca de nuevas y mejores oportunidades.

Pedro era un gran trabajador, un padre firme, un esposo devoto y un abuelo cariñoso. Le encantaba salir a comer y se levantaba de la cama si había comida y familia de por medio. Sus frases ingeniosas con una sonrisa burlona nos hacían reír, siempre cedía ante lo que su nieta quería, y su sonrisa siempre era su recompensa. Me rompe el corazón que ya no vaya a estar presente cuando ella diga que quiere ir a casa de su abuelito. Él estuvo ahí cuando más lo necesitábamos, el pilar que nos ha mantenido a todos anclados.

Desafortunadamente, mi padre luchó contra la diabetes y otras afecciones en estos últimos años, lo que le impidió hacer muchas de las cosas que quería hacer después de jubilarse a los 67 años. Sin embargo, su fallecimiento llegó sin aviso. No sabemos realmente de qué falleció ni siquiera qué día, solo sabemos que se fue solo en circunstancias extremadamente deprimentes.

Para alguien que dedicó tanto tiempo, esfuerzo y vida a su familia, y que también se preocupó profundamente por los demás, merece una despedida como corresponde. Pero con lo inesperado que a sido su fallecimiento y el alto costo actual de todo en estos tiempos, nuestra familia necesita y agradecería enormemente cualquier ayuda para poder al menos darle eso a cambio, además de ayudar a nuestra mamá con las facturas que ahora tiene acumuladas. Cualquier contribución ayuda, y si no pueden ayudar económicamente, también nos vendría bien su apoyo dándole un "me gusta" y compartiendo esta recaudación de fondos donde la vean publicada para que, con suerte, llegue a más personas. Y, por favor, téngannos presentes en sus pensamientos y oraciones mientras atravesamos este momento difícil.
