Giving love back to Linda

Donation protected
Just weeks ago our Grandma was a vibrant, active, 73 years young woman.

Then almost overnight, that all changed.  It started small, having trouble with simple arithmetic on June 12th and then that quickly progressed to forgetting where she would put things. A doctor’s appointment on June 15th raised the possibility of dementia. Then suddenly all of our lives were turned upside down. An MRI on June 22nd revealed a brain mass with multiple abnormalities in the brain itself and a CT scan on June 24th revealed that cancer that had originated from the right lung had spread to the brain.. She never smoked a day in her life. She was the epitome of healthy. For 48 years she ran our family childcare business out of the home. She has provided a home away from home to the children of many, many teachers in our local school districts for almost 5 decades and in that time, she only took 3 sick days.  Prior to schools being closed on March 13 due to the Covid-19 stay at home order, she was caring for 8 children, 5 days a week, ranging in age from 11 months to 4 years old. She always gave unconditional love. She was looking forward to seeing all of the children again in the fall.  She has been married to our Grandpa for 55 years. Her diagnosis came two days before their 55th wedding anniversary.  She has given so much time, devotion, and love to so many people in her life.  To say that she is loved back by so many is an understatement. Those of you who know her, love her. Those of you who don't know her, if you met her you would love her too! She is an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, caregiver, friend.

This is our time to take care of Linda. We are raising funds to help with the medical expenses and bills to make sure that my grandma and grandpa are taken care of during this difficult time without having to worry about anything other than our Grandma’s health. We are all still trying to process all of this. Her cancer is not curable, only treatable. Whole brain radiation will be the first step in treatment. What follows next is pending on some test results that have not come back yet. There are so many unanswered questions right now and so many uncertainties but for now our focus is solely on taking care of my grandma and supporting my grandpa during this time. The childcare business was the sole source of income. For now, we cannot even continue the business since it is ran out of the home and she is now at extremely high risk with Covid-19. Even just a simple common cold could be devastating to her in her condition. We are praying for a miracle but at the very least we want our grandma to be as comfortable as possible, for as long as possible but most importantly we want her to be at home surrounded by love, laughter, hope and encouragement. She has enriched the lives of so many people. She has provided a safe, loving environment for so many children. She has loved her husband, her family, her friends, and every child she has ever provided childcare for wholeheartedly and UNCONDITIONALLY. Please help us give all of that love back to Linda. Please send her all of your hope and encouragement and keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
