Giving kids a book of their OWN!

Hello,

My name is Tony Lawson, and I am a 6th grade English teacher at Franklin Township Edgewood Intermediate School, and for the past seven years I have successfully (thanks to you lovely people) raised enough money to buy a brand new book for each of my students.

Unfortunately not every child grows up with the opportunity to own a brand new book or even a book and call it their own. Having something of their own with the bonus of it being a book that they got to choose, instead of being told what to read, is a feeling and experience that can open up doors they never thought were possible. There are few moments that can rival the moment when a child receives an unexpected gift, and it's even a more rare experience when the gift is a book that they have always wanted.

With your help, I'll be able to help each of my students acquire a book of their choice through which they will hopefully discover how amazing it is to read and experience a wonderful story.

Thank you for all of your help, and please know you are helping many kids that have never had a book of their own, helping those avid readers continue with a series that they've been dying to finish, and helping some kids discover how the true joy that reading can bring to someone's life.
