Remembering Kelly: A Beautiful Soul Gone Too Soon

Help Us Give Him the Farewell He Deserves

Our world became a little dimmer when we lost our precious Kelly at just 58 years old. For almost a month, we watched him fight with every ounce of strength he had after a devastating stroke, hoping and praying he would open his eyes again. Though his final moments came peacefully, our hearts weren't ready to say goodbye.

Kelly was that hardheaded, lovable, tattooed guy who'd give you the shirt off his back. If you were lucky enough to know him, you knew that his laugh could chase away even the darkest clouds. We can still picture him in his favorite spot, completely lost in one of his favorite Mafia crime movies (the same ones he'd watched a hundred times before), often jamming to his favorite bands like Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Rush, and Led Zeppelin (just to name a few). He'd be surrounded by his treasure trove of candy - he never met a Twizzler he didn't like, hoarded Blow Pops like they were gold, and would share his precious Swedish Fish with anyone who asked. That was Kelly - finding magic in the smallest moments and making sure everyone around him felt that magic too.

The love he had for his children was something beautiful to witness. As a father to his son and stepdaughter, Kelly poured his whole heart into their lives. Now, his son is building his own family story with his fiancé and their little girl - a granddaughter who had Kelly wrapped around her tiny finger from day one. His stepdaughter, showing the same strength Kelly showed her, is raising two incredible boys who made their papal's eyes sparkle with pride every time he saw them. Though Kelly's heart overflowed with love for his family, he wasn't able to prepare for this final farewell.

Oh, how those grandchildren lit up his world. He transformed into a different person around them - part comedian, part playmate, all love. He'd channel Stewie from Family Guy to make his teenage grandson laugh until he couldn't breathe. His middle school grandson knew him as the master of jokes and the one who helped supply his Hot Pickle habit. And his baby granddaughter? She had him playing Hungry Hungry Hippos (the unicorn edition) with the enthusiasm of a tournament champion. Now these three precious souls are learning the hardest lesson life can teach - what it means to miss someone whose love seemed endless.

Life didn't give us time to prepare for losing Kelly. Now, as we try to plan a goodbye worthy of the joy he brought to this world, we're facing the difficult reality of unexpected funeral and memorial costs. We're reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for help in giving Kelly the beautiful farewell he deserves, and to support the family he cherished as they navigate this heartbreaking journey. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, will help us honor the man who made everyone feel like family.

Your support will help with:

• Creating a meaningful funeral service to celebrate Kelly's life
• Memorial arrangements to honor his memory
• Final medical bills
• Supporting his children and grandchildren through this devastating loss

Whether you can offer financial support, share our story, or simply hold us in your thoughts and prayers, we're grateful beyond words. Kelly taught us that love and laughter are life's greatest gifts, and we want to say goodbye in a way that would make him smile down from heaven..

With broken hearts but endless gratitude,
-The Green Family
