Hi, my name is Eleanor, and I’m reaching out with continued hope in my heart for my dear friend, Julz.

Julz has been bravely battling cancer since 2022. Sadly, her cancer no longer responds to first-line chemotherapy, and a recent trial using a non-funded drug (Pemazyre) was unsuccessful. At the time, Julz had run out of options.

Since then, she has engaged a new medical team. While her cancer remains incurable, we are now pursuing a second-line chemotherapy option in the hope that it will extend her life expectancy and give her more time with her loved ones.

Update on Julz’s current health:

Julz’s condition has significantly worsened in recent months. Radiation has caused damage to her right lung, resulting in a dangerously high heart rate and severely impaired breathing. The tumours on her lungs have increased in size, leading to multiple complications. She lives with daily, excruciating pain and struggles with sleep due to discomfort and distress. In addition to these challenges, Julz is experiencing widespread issues across her body, including a kidney stent that is prone to infection, lymphoedema in her left leg affecting mobility, and suspected fibrosis causing airway obstruction. Despite all this, she continues to fight with incredible strength and grace.

How previous donations were used:

Thanks to your generosity, we were able to fund the Pemazyre trial, which gave Julz a chance when no other treatments were available. Although the trial was unsuccessful, it meant everything to Julz and her family to have that opportunity.
