As many of you know, this time in history is hard for most everyone. For the past few months I have watched my mom, Wendy Urbas, work tirelessly to save her business. She is not one to ever ask for help, especially money, but I will for her. Even the smallest donation is helpful as Wendy will use these funds to pay her employees (many of whom cannot get unemployment), ensure her business continues to run, and provide the community with delicious food and socialization.
Grayce Ann's Family Restaurant, formerly known as BnK, is a staple for the people of Canal Fulton and the surrounding communities. My mom has been in ownership since 2005. Since then, she has hired employees that quickly became family. She has served growing families, watching every stage of their lives. She helped her own children with employment when they needed it. She has provided free food for ministries and soup kitchens. She has seen customers in difficult times and in their prime. Wendy, and her business, is not a typical restaurant. "Family" is in the title for a reason: when you walk in those doors, you are treated exactly as such. It is places like Grayce Ann's that are struggling the most right now, but are the type of place we will desperately need when we are able to be out and about. A place that is warm, welcoming, and familiar. Please, I know this is hard for all of this and you may not have much to give, but if you can spare just a small amount I know that my mom, her employees, and her customers will be eternally grateful.
Wendy plans to open her restaurant to outdoor seating on Friday, May 15 and for indoor seating on Thursday, May 21. They are currently open for take-out each day, except for Mondays. These funds will help her to prepare her restaurant according to CDC regulations in a timely manner.
