This is the last thing I ever expected to write, especially right before Christmas. A few days ago, me and my children came home to find our house severely damaged from a major roof leak. Water had poured through the ceiling, ruining our belongings and making our home unsafe to live in. In a matter of moments, everything we worked so hard for was destroyed.

Right now, we have nowhere to stay and no way to quickly repair the damage. As a parent, it breaks my heart to see my children confused and scared, especially during what should be the most joyful time of the year. Instead of decorating a tree and wrapping gifts, we’re trying to figure out where we will sleep next.
