Giving henry james the gift of mobility

Donation protected
Hi I'm jen and I am fundraising to get my grandson henry james a wheelchair, this is really important to me as I want henry to experience everyday things that other 5 yr olds experience, without the worry of him being uncomfortable and getting hurt while out in public, henry is a very sweet loving boy and he is missing out due to not having the right chair.

Henry has autism, sensory processing disorder, pica, low bone density and is immune compromised, henry also has global developmental delay, although henry is nearly 5 he is developmentally working at the age of under 1 years old.

Henry has recently been assessed for a wheelchair, he is currently using a special needs buggy, however he has outgrown the buggy and it is becoming unsafe to use and no longer meets his needs or keep him safe when out in the community, henry is a head banger and needs a secure environment when outside, the buggy he is using now is no longer sturdy enough and he can easily tip it when he becomes disregulated, there is no head support for when he becomes upset and distressed, henry becomes extremely upset and anxious when outside his safe place (home) and he can exhibit self injurious behaviour.

Having a secure wheelchair will help henry in so many ways, he will have a safe, sturdy wheelchair that will keep him safe and comfortable, henry can only walk a short distance due to his muscle pain and low bone density, he will be able to do more things with his siblings and not be left out of outings and be able to experience a lot more.

Having a wheel chair means henry will be able to go out safe and securely into the community, we will not have the worry of him tipping his chair and hurting himself, and he will be comfortable and not in pain after a day out because the wheelchair has all the support and needs for his body.

Henry may look like a big boy at nearly 5yrs old but developmentally he is only around 6/10 months and you wouldn't expect a baby of that age to be aware and safe in its surroundings.

Due to Henry's autism his perception is a lot different to other children his age, therefore he falls a lot and is very clumsy so this wheelchair we a fundraising for will be such a benefit, and make his life so much better.

I am really hoping we can all come together and support henry in raising the funds for this wheelchair, if you can donate even a £1 would be so much help, if you can't donate please share with as many people you can.

I appreciate all the help we can get thank you so much.
