GIVE TO KIDS WAITING TO BE ADOPTED
I am raising money, specifically for children who reside in Foster Care at “Walden Family Services” and are waiting to be adopted. I want them to know that people care, and most importantly, want them to feel loved and cared for at this time of year. The reason this is so close to my heart is that, my husband went through multiple Foster Care homes until he was adopted. He was moved from family to family, lugging around his black trash bag full of belongings. Please help us give back to those families and children in need, so they too can have something to look forward to this holiday season.
A few weeks ago, Brian found his siblings and has re-connected with them. I’ve heard his stories and seen the tears from some of his memories that he has carried with him. My husband decided to give, “23 & Me” a chance. Our daughter was getting married and wanted to know her unknown heritage. We all had opinions of who and what his heritage was. We thought maybe Itiian, but my kids always said, he was like a ”Happy Leprachaun”!!! Needlees to say, we were all shocked he came back 97% Ashkenazi Jewish and the rest Ukranian Lucky for us, we were surprised to find out that he has two half brother’s and two half sister’s. he has lived quite some time without knowing. Today, we are all one big, happy, family, including the Woods family who opened their house to make him one of their own. He couldn't have asked for a more loving family to raise him with their love and values.
Today, my husband is a successful CEO for a company that gives back as much as they can. The Jeromes family feelw so deeply for the people in this world that don’t always have it very easy during this season, and they always do what they can, when they can. It’s “real family values”.
On Thanksgiving, we give our children money which they then match, and give back in their own ways to touch the hearts of others. My husband and I do the challenge as well, however no one is allowed to share their experiences until Christmas morning. We then take turns sharing and reading our stories. It’s amazing to see what each one of us have done with our time, money, and how it touched each one of us, personally. The morning is filled with so much love and the true meaning of Christmas is felt within every family member.
100% of the proceeds will be given to “Walden Family Services” and distributed to the children in need. The CEO of Walden Family service's who I talked with, told me the money will go to gift cards to older kids to build independence of going out and feeling like a normal teen, apartments that they start for older youth that dont get adopted, diapers and clothing for babies, everyday necessaties, like tooth brushes, tooth paste, shampoo, deoderant. This cause means so much to me, because I personally know the effects children feel, just from the stories and expressions my husband shares. I know any bit of donation and support can change lives. This will also honor my husband, who is now feeling that he has all his answers of why he was given up. Its not that he never felt love from the family that adopted him, which he feels an amazing bond with. Its because caring and loving people like his Dad, Mom, and Sisters, that has become who he is. Their love and guidance shaped his spirit They are everything, and huge part of his success
The extra family he has found, two half brothers and two half sisters are a huge bonus. Not to forget his three wonderful and beautiul sister's who have loved him uncoditionally as if he was their own. Believe me, when I met him at 17, I had to go through an excrutuiating, but loving, interview, wich we all laugh about. I am blessed to have parents that have been married 54 years in July. I came from a family of five children. Ive known my siblings all my life. But, from watching my husband, and the family that blessed him, you don’t have to be blood to be family.
To show my gratitude and appreciation, I will be donating a Red, Louis Vuitton purse to "Walden Family Services". All donations are very much appreciated and names who have donated, upon your request will be thrown into a raffle to be drawn at the end of the fundings. The purse will be kept at ”Walden Family Services” until the drawing. Please help me change lives of our own San Diego children, who often feel scared and alone. It’s Christmas time and a great time to share and feel the Christmas spirit.
Thank you!
