I would like to introduce Faithe Wilson. My family has known this child for several years but she is truly come into our hearts over the past few months. This child has endured circumstances no one should ever have to. When Faithe was growing up, she was in and out of hotels and different living situations due to her parents struggles. Sadly, her father’s died a couple of years ago when he was only 51 from a heart attack. This was a crushing blow to the family. This caused her Mom’s health to spiral downward and Faithe was basically raising herself. Faithe was struggling with attendance at school. We witnessed this and wanted to provide her with a stable living situation. She moved in with us on January 1st. Since then, Faithe has made tremendous progress in school and all of her teachers are so thrilled with her consistency and hard work. It’s an amazing thing to see Faithe thrive. Unfortunately, we got the worst news yesterday. Faithe’s mom had passed away from a heart attack while in a skilled nursing facility. Faithe had not seen her mom in over a month and we were desperately trying to locate her. Faithe called her mom as well, but her calls were never picked up or returned. This child has been orphaned at age 16. No one should have to endure what she has. We will take care of Faithe for his long as she needs us. We would like to give her an even greater sense of safety and security by asking friends, family members and the community at large to donate to this fund created for Faithe’s future wellbeing and give her a sense of hope and a leg up financially to embark on college after graduation. All of this money will be put in an escrow account and she will have access to it once she graduates high school. Hopefully it will provide her with a college start or possibly a car and extra money for books, living expenses, etc. We will safeguard Faithe and ensure that this money is used appropriately. Thank you all so much. Any donation no matter how small will be honored as participation in ensuring this child has a better future. It takes a village to raise a child!
