Giving Everything for those who Lost Everything
Tax deductible
On September 16, 2023 I will GIVE EVERYTHING I have to complete the Spartan Beast in Killington, VT for those who LOST EVERYTHING in the Maui Fires. The Beast is a 21K race with 30 obstacles and the Killington race is known as the “Hardest Spartan Race in the United States,” with a total of 14,000 feet of elevation gain and loss over the 21K distance.
Join me in making a difference for those who Lost Everything in the recent fires in Maui. The recent tragedies in Maui, Hawaii really hit home hard for Amy and I. For those of you who know we lost our home and everything we own to a devastating house fire 15 years ago. By the grace of God, we were spared the loss of life that day. However, that type of tragedy caused deep scars and some are still felt today. While material things can be replaced, there are many things that are irreplaceable and the road to recovery is long and difficult. We were blessed to have family, friends, and a community that was ready, willing, and able to help in our time of need.
Seeing the damage and loss that was caused by the fire in Maui made us want to do something to help. We know that the families in Maui were not as fortunate as us. They lost family, friends, and neighbors. Their community is devastated. They are not fortunate enough to stay with family down the street while their homes are rebuilt. The store and supply houses down the street are no longer there to supply families with what they need for their children and the resources to rebuild. I cannot put into words how difficult it was for us to lose our home. Our community, infrastructure, and jobs were a source of stability and were unaffected. Many in Maui have lost their community and source of stability.
Our friends in Maui will need our help for a long time to come. We know this from experience. Please join me in donating what you can to help. I have set a goal of $5,000 and if our goal is met Amy and I will match the $5,000 in donations.
