Support For Eli and His Family

Donation protected

During the evening of July 20th, 19 year old Eli was in downtown Milwaukee with a good friend. While doing tricks on his bike, he wiped out and sat on a ledge because he didn't feel well. Then Eli passed out, falling backwards and landing 18 feet to the cement ground below, suffering a severe spinal cord injury (C4-7)

In the three months since his accident, Eli has had intensive rehab at Froedtert in Milwaukee, and is currently at Shriners Hospital in Chicago. He has gained improved functioning in his arms, and is working on gaining the ability to use his hands. He still does not have mobility in his legs or torso, and requires continuous care for this reason. He and his family are tentatively preparing for his discharge on October 16th. From there he will be home and begin outpatient rehabilitation.

After nearly three months, Eli is excited to get home and back to living again! This means that his family will need a wheelchair accessible van not only to transport him to and from his rehab appointments, but also for weekly things he's really missed like going to church, as well as time with family and friends outside the home.

Unfortunately this significant expense is not covered by Medicaid or private insurance, which leaves the financial burden on the family. Eli's original GoFundMe campaign was a success, covering his parent's loss of income since he's been in the hospital. They are so full of gratitude for the generosity of so many individuals who donated, so that they were able to stay at Eli's side during such a devastating chapter of his life.

Now, a new rally cry is going out to all of you.

...please consider a donation to support an amazing, positive young man and his family. Since his spinal cord injury in July, Eli first inspired us when he said, "Half full, half empty, I'm just thankful for the cup." That simple statement gave such perspective, and has paved the way for his journey of healing. He's shown incredible faith, perseverance, gratitude, resilience and grit. And we have risen up as an army of over 500 in earnest prayer and continued support for Eli and his parents, who have been at his side these three months.

Please consider sharing this link with your employer or a favorite business. Also consider sharing to your own Facebook page to create an even bigger rally cry in order to get Eli's wheels rolling!

With love and appreciation, Eli and his family
