Giving Donna a break

Dear friends of Donna Brown,
My name is Heike Beier. I’m a close friend of Donna Brown.
As many of you may already know Donna is going through an incredible rough time. After her Mom had multiple strokes she stays in a nursing home in Greenville SC. Although she shows little progress she can never be left alone. She desperately wants to get up, but her physical and mental state does not allow her to walk on her own. In short words - her conditions require caretaking duties 24/7.
Donna has taken a leave of absence from her job to take care of her mom, but even more important, to figure out and organize a way how caretaking for her mom can be done when she is back on her job. Since she is the financial supporter of the family this is crucial.
But it has taken its toll. I’m worried about Donna. It takes so much from her and she desperately needs and deserves a break.
That leads me to why we are here. With the help of her many friends around the world we should try to get Donna a week (or a little more) off of her duties to take a little vacation to a destination of her choice. That includes a week of pay for sitters at the nursing home and maybe enough for a flight and hotel stay. My goal would be 5000 USD.
Donna has been a true and reliable friend for many years to me and I’m sure to you as well. She has been helping and inspiring so many people (and dogs J). If you take a minute I’m sure you can think of moments and events with Donna that you would not want to miss.

Donna does not know that we are doing this. Her birthday is coming up soon (it’s one with a zero in it) and maybe we can get her this (re)treat as birthday surprise. Therefor it is very important that this is only shared on your friend’s timeline (in der persönlichen Chronik eurer Freunde) or in a group that does not contain Donna as a member. If you can think of other ways like e-mail or WhatsApp to increase the group of donors feel free to spread the word.
Now I hope for your generosity. But even if you can only afford a 5$ it will mean a lot.
