Giving Buddy a Fighting Chance
Buddy is fighting for his life right now in Colonial Animal Hospital, very sick with the puppy-killing illness: Parvovirus.
Friday April 9th Buddy arrived in Florida from his breeder in OklahomaApril 10-13th: Buddy spent time with his owner Stacy and behaved like the goodboy that he is, doing all the usual puppy things and acting completely healthy.
April 14th, 10am: Pet Sitter, Kelli from Babcock Barks arrived to take care of Buddy. He was an exuberant puppy, happy to play and get cuddles - he even had a normal poo and ate and drank a little!April 14th 2pm: Kelli arrived to find Buddy surrounded by diarrhea and vomit. After a quick bath to get him cleaned up, Kelli & Stacy decided to bring him to the Emergency Vet, where he was quickly diagnosed with Parvo.
According to PetMD, puppies will begin to get ill 3-7 days from exposure to parvovirus. From the time Buddy left his breeder to him becoming sick was only 5 days. The breeder insists that he was not infected with he was in her care and has refused to help pay for Buddy's treatment.
Buddy remains in critical care and the vet bill continues to grow. The bill is already up over $3,500 and there is no end in sight. Buddy's owner is doing everything she can to keep him in the hospital to receive the care he needs, but it's getting harder to continue every day that goes by.
Please consider donating to help Buddy keep fighting and come home as the happy, healthy boy he once was. All funds will be used to pay his veterinarian bills.
If you prefer to donate to his care directly to the vet, you may do so by contacting Colonial Animal Hospital and making payment towards Buddy Pavia's account.
Thank you for reading and loving sweet Buddy.
