Giving Back to Stanley Gomes and His Ohana

What can one say about Stanley Gomes without
using the word “Aloha”? Not much, because
Aloha is in his DNA being born in Maui.

He comes from parents who raised him immersed in his
Hawaiian heritage despite living in Southern
California for most of his life. Stanleyʻs mother,
Eunice, was a long standing member of Hawaiian
civic clubs like ʻAhahui o Liliuokalani, Lei Hulu of
California, Hawaiiʻs Daughterʻs Guild of Southern
California, to name a few. For many years, the
Gomes ʻ Ohana was a fixture within the Hawaiian
community of Southern California.

They worked tirelessly to fundraise for numerous scholarships
for hundreds of So Calʻs native Hawaiian youth to
seek college educations and trips to attend
Hoʻomākaʻikaʻi (Explorations) on Oʻahu.

There were restoration projects for Iolani Palace and
Association of Hawaiian Civic Club Conventions.
Their unrelenting commitment to our community
gave countless opportunities for Hawaiian
families to thrive and perpetuate Hawaiian culture
and history for future generations.

Stanley followed in his parentsʻ footsteps. He was a founding member of the security group Kahucali’i and a long standing member of Nā Mamo, the organization that brought the Hawaiian community the E Hula Mau Hula and Chant Competition for 6+ years.

Stanley was a permanent fixture, often heading up the security
team at the Hawaiian Civic Club Council of Southern Californiaʻs annual Hoʻolauleʻa at Alondra Park for 20+ years, Hoʻolauleʻa in San Diego at the Bay for 12+ years, Aloha Expo for 12+years and Kama'aina Luau for 12+ years.

There isnʻt a Hoʻolauleʻa in Southern California that Stanley hasnʻt given his time, energy and ALOHA to over the last three decades.

The Gomes Family has been truly a pillar of the Southern California Hawaiian community.

Now serious health issues, mounting medical expenses and the possibility of losing his home are at a critical mass for Stanley.

Your donation to this fund will ease the financial burden he and long time partner, Frances face.

It’s time to give back to the Gomes Ohana after years of their giving to our community.
