Giving Back to Someone That Gives so Much!
Sgt. Douglas Perry has served with the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office since 1998. He has served in many different capacities some to include Patrol Deputy, Detective, Arson Investigator, and Civil Sargent. When it comes to Sgt. Perry’s work, he always puts his heart and soul into everything he does. He believes in what he does and always tries to help those in need, even if it means putting their needs above his own.
Sgt. Perry and his beautiful wife Scarlett have been married for 23 years and they have 2 wonderful children, Caleb and Sydney. They are a very strong family of faith, and they are all very active in their church community where he serves as Youth Pastor at Brookfield Church of God in Wilmington NC.
In July of 2021, Sgt. Perry started experiencing chest pains and went to see his doctor only to discover that he was going to need emergency double bypass surgery. Heart issues are hereditary in his family. He had already undergone one heart procedure a few years back and was hopeful his health would continue to get progressively better.
On July 21, 2021, Sgt. Perry underwent double bypass open heart surgery followed by several days in ICU due to complications with his oxygen levels. He spent a total of 2 weeks in the hospital being monitored before being released to go home to continue his recovery.
As brothers and sisters in Blue, we must look after one another. August 25, 2021, after spending several weeks on FLMA, Sgt. Doug Perry returned to work on light duty continuing his recovery. We created this account to humbly ask for your help, no matter how big or small, to assist our Brother in Blue along with his family with mounting medical bills.
Thank you to everyone in advance!
